Within InstantForum you can create moderated forums that require forum moderators manually approve all new topics and / or replies submitted to the forum before the topics and / or reply is visible to regular users.
To save your moderators having to manually approve every new posts forever within your forum you can take advantage of permission sets within InstantForum to skip moderation completely if a user already has X number of live or approved topics or replies within your community.
It's fairly safe to assume once your moderators have approved say 5 posts from a user the user is genuine and will participate within your community in a positive manner going forward.
To skip moderation once a user reaches a specific number of posts you should first identify the permission set you wish to enable this feature for. Typically you would enable this for the "Forum Members" permission set provided out the box with InstantForum. The basic steps are...
- Visit the InstantForum Admin CP. Click Manage Permissions on the left.
- Click the Forum Members permission set or which ever permission set you wish to change this for.
- Locate the "Skip moderation checks if user post count meets" option when editing the permission set. Set this value to say 5 to ensure only the first 5 posts from users who have the "Forum Members" permission set require manual moderator approval.
After the first 5 posts posts from users who have the "Forum Members" permission set will go live immediately and will no longer require manual moderator approval.
