Login & Registration


Manage Settings

Login & Registration settings allow you to control various options relating to registration & member login. From here you can select the type of registration the board should use, configure various default member groups or toggle Terms & Conditions during registration and more.

To access the login & registration settings page go to, Manage Settings » Login & Registration, this is shown below...

An overview of each configuration option available on this page is provided below.

  • Registration Type
    Select the how registration should work. Confirmation Email will place new members into the awaiting approval member group until they click a unique link within a confirmation email. Once the link is clicked they will be moved to the confirmed member group. Admin Approval will require an admin to manually approve all new registrations, Automated will immediately move new members into the confirmed member group no email confirmation will be required.

  • Confirmation On Email Update
    Require confirmation if members update their email address. If 'Yes' members who change their email address will be sent a confirmation link to the new email address and placed back into the default awaiting activation member group set below.

  • Enable Terms & Conditions
    If enabled users must indicate they agree to abide by your terms and conditions. You can edit the terms and conditions text within the resource.xml file in the globalization directory.

  • Default Awaiting Approval Group
    This will act as the primary member group for all unconfirmed members. For example, if you've selected confirmation email or enabled the COPPA registration feature above members who are not validated or require COPPA approval will be placed in this member group immediately after registration.

  • Default Confirmed Member Group
    This will act as the primary member group for all validated members. For example, once members have clicked the validation link within the confirmation email or you have selected automated registrations above.

  • Login Using
    Specify if members should login using the account username or account email address.

  • Allow Anonymous Login
    If 'Yes' an option will be provided to login anonymously on the login page. Members who login anonymously will not appear within the who's on list or within forum activity panel.

  • Login Landing Page
    Set the default path to the landing page upon a successful login. This is typically the forum homepage however this can be changed for example to point to your main web sites homepage. Any valid virtual or absolute URL is accepted.

  • Logout Landing Page
    Set the default path to the landing page upon a successful login. This is typically the forum homepage however this can be changed for example to point to your main web sites homepage. Any valid virtual or absolute URL is accepted.

  • Anonymous Username
    Provide a username that will be automatically used for all anonymous posts to the forums. Anonymous posts can be enabled by allowing the anonymous permission set to post within forums.

  • Anonymous Email Address
    Provide an email address that will be used for all anonymous posts if enabled.
