Creating & Editing Forum Moderators

Forums

Any forum member can be assigned as a moderator to any forum or number of forums allowing them to act on your behalf keeping the peace and ensuring members behave themselves. You can create & edit moderators using the drop down list options aligned right of each forum within Manage Forums » Manage Forums or by using the Manage Forums » Manage Moderators page.

Moderators can be associated with either moderated or unmoderated forums. Permissions (edit posts, delete posts etc) defined when creating a moderator will override any permissions within the users permission set. For example if the current permission set does not allow editing of posts, but the member is associated as a moderator to the forum with permission to edit posts the moderator permissions will be used and editing posts within the forum for the user will be allowed.

Moderator permissions work separately from and override permission set permissions. Moderators don't have to be a member of the Moderator member group however it's often a good idea to group your moderators into a single member group. This can help identify moderators and assist with controlling global permissions available to moderators via permission sets.
